With nearly fifteen years of teaching high school English in the prestigious Williamson County School district under her belt, Lane Faulkner set out to fill the gap in the college admissions process with her own consulting business in 2015. After working with countless juniors and seniors through the complicated and overwhelming college application process, she saw the need for a more hands-on approach than what schools and guidance counselors typically are able to offer students and families.

Since then, she's worked in college admissions consulting with nearly 100 students in the Middle Tennessee area and beyond to help apply to schools across the educational spectrum - from local state schools to Ivy League hard-hitters, her clients consistently see high admissions rates and scholarship offers. In 2018, her clients amassed over $2 million in scholarship offers.

Thanks to her background as an AP English Language and Composition instructor, Lane is able to easily build a rapport with students to identify their unique stories and help them craft a narrative to stand out from the crowd of hum-drum, monotone essays. Whether you are just starting the process of narrowing down potential schools and majors or need a leg up with the writing process, Lane can tailor a customized plan to help take the stress out of one of the most important times in a family's life - the transition to college.

In today's unusual learning climate in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many parents are worried that their students may fall behind in college preparatory writing. This year, Lane is expanding her services to offer supplemental remote writing instruction to distance learners seeking deeper and richer writing instruction than what they may be receiving while working from home. With three tailored writing units, students can expect to receive one-on-one distance instruction, valuable reference resources to keep handy, and detailed editing and revisions on one finalized writing piece.
